Runner's World Magazine has listed the Royal Victoria Marathon as a 'Must-Do 26.2'. The RVM welcomes over 13,000 runners and walkers from around the world to take part in the Marathon, Half Marathon, 8K Road Race and Thrifty Foods Kids Run & Marathon!

Early - Race limits are in effect:
- RVM To Host BC Marathon Championships - BC Athletics will be awarding $700 in prize money to the top 3 male and female eligible finishers at each road running championship ($200, $100, $50). To be eligible, athletes must be current Junior, Senior or Masters BC Athletics members. The host organizing committee, Victoria Marathon Society, also offers $26,000 in prize money. Details are shown on the RVM website.

 Personalize Your Race Number - Register by Sept. 7 to choose the name/nickname that goes on your race number.- 2010 Participant Shirts/Artwork - The RVM is pleased to feature technical shirts by New Balance and artwork by local First Nations artist, Tom Spetter. The raven is a symbol of a hero - the bringer of light to the earth. Participants in the Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K Road Race will receive a New Balance technical shirt if registered prior to posted deadlines.

 Tips to Get Around Victoria
Tourism Victoria is pleased to share tips how RVM participants can travel to Victoria without a vehicle. Vancouver Island residents can enjoy regularly scheduled Greyhound service and Via Rail's service. Runners arriving via BC Ferries can travel from the Swartz Bay terminal either by Pacific Coach Lines or Victoria Regional Transit. Harbour to harbour flights from Seattle and Vancouver are available by float plane or helicopter. Finally, visitors arriving at the Victoria International Airport can travel downtown via Victoria Regional Transit, in one of Victoria's hybrid taxis or airport shuttle.
