Charitable #89126 2628 RR0001
Today one in every 90 children in Canada is diagnosed with autism.
Autistic children often exist in a world of isolation; unable to relate to the people around them or enjoy the routines we all take for granted for our children-going to school, playing with friends, telling their parents they love them.
But there is hope! The Kilee Patchell-Evans Autism Research Group, under the direction of Dr. Derrick MacFabe was founded in 2003 with funding provided by David Patchell-Evans. Now that commitment has grown to a personal donation of over $4 million. The team continues to unfold important new findings that are receiving global attention. Recognized by the Canadian Medical Association in 2007 with its Medal of Honour, David Patchell-Evans and Dr. MacFabe continue to build collaborations between scientists and concerned citizens around the world.

CHARITY PLEDGE PROGRAM – APPLY NOW FOR 2014
As the 2013 GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon event activities draw to a close we are looking towards 2014, our 35th Anniversary. Every year we choose charities to partner with to provide a fundraising platform in conjunction with the event. This year, we are opening up the program to charities, large and small across the country to participate in our program.
As there will be a few deadlines for charity applications as we get closer to October 12, 2014 and the first deadline is December 13th for returning charities, the second deadline is January 15 and third deadline prior to the April Launch is February 28, 2014. Submissions will be reviewed and charities will be notified within 2 weeks of the deadline.
Our goal is to encourage people to participate in any one of the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon's four running events while raising funds for the official charity of their choice.
