"Mindful Strides" - Featuring Marilyn Arsenault, Victoria Half Marathon record holder. A short preview on the running technique Mindful Strides, and how it can replace bad habits with good technique to develop a light and more efficient stride. Presented by Traumeel.
Whether you are new to running or have logged many miles, running is a challenging and often daunting activity. However, once you get over the initial painful stage of getting fit, there is nothing like it! Unfortunately, even with a sound running program, injuries often interrupt training. Consistency is lost or even worse, running is abandoned altogether. Bad physical habits can put undue strain on joints, bones, tendons and muscles which is exacerbated by the repetitive nature of running. It is important therefore to embody a balanced and efficient running style. Get a short preview of what the Mindful Strides Clinics are about Mindful Strides clinics teach you how to gradually replace bad habits with good technique to develop a light and more efficient stride.
12:30pm - 1:10pm Lucy Smith
"Race Like you Mean It!" - Featuring Lucy Smith, 19-time Canadian Champion. Lucy shares stories from her countless successes and disappointments over the years, and lessons from other professional athletes and coaches, to show just what it takes to be ready to be great!
Success is not a random occurrence. Success is something you create for yourself through careful observation, preparation and execution. Success is also a self defined environment that each of us has to find for ourselves. While we can emulate the success of others, and learn from it, each one of us has to create our own platforms to jump from. Personal success is that place where attitude and passion intersect. Using racing as a metaphor, Lucy shares stories from her countless successes and disappointments over the years, and lessons from other professional athletes and coaches, to show just what it takes to be ready to be great!
1:15pm - 1:55pm Kathrine Switzer
"Running Away Together: Men, Women and the Marathon" - Known widely as the woman who broke the gender barrier at Boston, Kathrine has run 37 marathons and is a passionate advocate of womens sports. She will be signing copies of her book Marathon Woman after the session.
This is the amazing, rollicking and inspiring story about how men and women together made the marathon happen for women and created one of the greatest social revolutions of our time. Come and be inspired!

"Never Limit Where Running Can Take You" - Creator of the 'Yasso 800's', and author of My Life on the Run, Bart has run marathons worldwide and completed the 146-mile Badwater race, the toughest race in the U.S.
Bart will take you on a photo journey of races that he has completed over the past 34 years, across the globe. He will run the highest altitude marathon in Mount Kilimanjaro, run away from a disgruntled rhino in Chitwan National Park in Nepal. He will also show a lighter side of himself running across the finish line at the Bare Buns Run!
Bart will give valuable and practical advice on how to become a runner for life and continue to draw joy from the amazing sport of running.
