After 20+ years, new Half Marathon course record set at the Royal Victoria Marathon

(Victoria, BC – October 8, 2023) — In 2002, three-time Olympian Jon Brown set the Royal Victoria Half Marathon course record at one hour, two minutes and 32 seconds. It had stood for 21 years. Royal Victoria Marathon Returns on Thanksgiving Weekend

(Victoria, BC – October 7, 2022) The Royal Victoria Marathon (RVM) is back with a full complement of events after two years of disruption due to the pandemic. On Sunday October 9 nearly 8,000 participants will participate in the Marathon, Half Marathon, 8K, and the Thrifty Foods Kids Run. The Half Marathon and 8K were held last year but the Marathon distance hasn’t been held since celebrating its 40th year in 2019.

Road Closures for Race Weekend – Saturday, October 9 & Sunday, October 10

(Victoria, BC – October 5, 2021) On the morning of Sunday, October 10 over 4,500 people will participate in the Royal Victoria Half Marathon and 8K Road Race. The races (8K Start – 7:30 am and Half Marathon — 9:30 am) both start and finish on Belleville between Oswego and Menzies Streets. Runners will finish running / walking both events at 1:00 pm.

RVM Announces Vaccination Status for Live Races 

(Victoria, BC – September 15, 2021) The Victoria Marathon Society has announced that participants, volunteers and on-site personnel will need to be double vaccinated, showing proof of vaccination for COVID-19, for the in-person Half Marathon and 8K on Sunday, October 10. Masks will also be mandatory at the start and finish line areas but can be removed when racing.

Victoria Marathon Society announces a live running event for Thanksgiving Weekend

(Victoria, BC – June 2, 2021) The Victoria Marathon Society is excited to announce that there will be an in-person Half Marathon and 8K race on Sunday, October 10. Registration for these races will open on Tuesday, June 8. Individuals who register for the full Royal Flush Virtual Series of five events will have the option of running the Half Marathon or 8K on October 10 at no additional charge.
